I have to say I have a little thing for sheep. They make fun stitching subjects. It's easy to turn them into balls of fluff. I often or rather pretty much always use french knots for them, although I think there some other stitches that could also do the job.
This was just a fun little project. I used a colored pencil to color the hills. I have tried crayons a number of times, but I really don't like the feeling of clumps of wax sitting on the fabric. The color pencil shades the fabric without looking like all the color is sitting on the surface.
Anyways, I am hoping the day soon comes that we can have real sheep here. There is much work to do first, like fixing the barn they will live in. That will hopefully be happening this fall.
Oh that is so sweet!
