Wool Embroidery Update

Lots and lots of french knots in this section of the project. They are very decorative, and I have to admit I never really thought to use them in this way  myself.
Here is the whole project laid out. You can see how far along I am now. There is much left to do still. The whole project is about 2 x 2', so it isn't small! The fabric is a thick wool felt. It isn't so easy to stitch through at all, but it feels nice. I've moved on to stitch a whole bunch of the green fronds in the corners, as you see. It's a nice project and fun to do something a bit different from my usual stitching.

I'm starting to get ideas in my head about a fall stitch school. I won't say too much about it until my ideas are more set though! But I will say it's inspired by this type of stitching.

  1. I find working on a black background is a bit difficult for me now since my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. :/ Your piece is lovely. So many french knots. Hope you are having a good day. Tammy

  2. I tink it looks lovely, love the use of the french knots. Are you sure it's 2" by 2"? That sounds quite small to me.
