That's right, after 6 months of work, my new site is up and running. It's at the same place as usual, www.theflossbox.com. It's super fast now compared to the old one! I think that's the best part of all. No sitting waiting for the pictures to load. The last site turned out to be a big headache, and my web hosting company, Green Geeks, turned out to be a drag. They did things like delete my whole site and not offer the courtesy of a backup. So stay away from this company if you are looking for a web hosting company. I know there are far better out there.
Anyways, I haven't had that much time over for much else lately. Working on the site just took a lot of my creative and mental energy. It's far from finished now (it will never be completely finished though!), but at least I can start thinking about other things that I have left sitting waiting for me. For starters I put up a new free biscornu pattern for Christmas stitchers. It's the least I can do for all the people that have been following me. :) I am going to think this weekend about what other fun things I can do.
I did manage to squeeze in time to start a new project. This one has been on my mind for some time, and since it's fall-themed, it's now or never.
A little close-up of the bottom.
I did the ring with raised chain band (a summer stitch school stitch!!) I wasn't sure if it would look right, since it's a little "wobbly". So I outlined the inner and outer circle with 1 strand of gold floss with stem stitch. That helped a lot and added a little sparkle to the project. I did the little green mound in detached button hole. I like the texture of it a lot.
I'll be working on this some, but I lately decided to jump in the Feeling Stitch book cover competition. I have an idea and a book, I hope it will work!! Go read this post on Plays with Needles for the inspiration behind the contest. I just love those book covers!!!
OK, back soon with Stitch School. :)
The ring looks really professional :) And the grass is cute! Keep on.
